Elder Bernadine Young Bird Donates to Elder Meal Site
North Segment Elder Meal Site is honored to receive a generous donation from Elder Bernadine Young Bird. Bernadine donated large amounts of Hidatsa Blue Corn, Hidatsa Red Beans, Hidatsa Squash and Hidatsa Sunflowers. All items were planted and harvested in NHSC’s Traditional Gardens in New Town, ND. Bernadine Young Bird donated the traditional foods in memory of her mother Hishu Nagabagi “Peppermint Blossom” – Martha Fox.
